220SU Kicks Off
Posted on Tuesday, August 12th 2008
The fall semester has begun at Southern University, and 220SU kicked it off with a bang on Sunday, August 10, with a Moving-In Outreach. Many of the 220 leaders served the in-coming freshmen students by unloading all of their things from their vehicles and moving them into the dormitories. This was also a time for us to share the Gospel, give out bottled waters, and connect the students to the 220SU Campus Ministry. After it was all said and done, we were able to serve almost 500 students. 220SU has definitely begun to establish a presence at Southern that will be remembered!

7000!
Posted on Monday, May 12th 2008
What is 7000? Could it be the number of donuts that kids eat weekly in clubs – Perhaps? How about the number of lost socks we have found on 220 Encounters? Well...maybe. As of this week, 7,000 is the number of youth that 220 is ministering to weekly in cells all across Baton Rouge. This was reached through the combined effort of our 220 junior high, high school, and college leaders. This will be a great base of kids as we head into the fall and expect to see a harvest of 10,000 youth. We're excited about what the Lord is doing in Baton Rouge and that 7,000 youth are being snatched from Hell. "They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity - all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved." - Acts 2:46-47

Have you been to 220conference.com lately? If not, don’t waste another minute! The entire site has been completely revamped. The new site is highly interactive and is a simulation of being in a storm bunker waiting on a hurricane to hit. In the bunker you can listen to sample messages on the intercom system and watch conference speakers on the makeshift television as you countdown the days until landfall. If that is not enough to satisfy your conference thirst, then check out the media section where you will find videos, posters, computer wallpapers, and a background for your mobile phone. Most importantly, don’t forget to register for the conference! www.220conference.com

Big News from Haiti!
Posted on Tuesday, March 18th 2008
This past Thursday, 220i sent a team of 20 interns down to the island of Haiti for a power-packed week of ministry and miracles. When they landed in Haiti, their ride to the missions base where they were staying was nowhere to be found. Instead of standing there idly, our interns got to work praying and ministering to all the people in and around the airport. Next thing you know, 7 deaf people had their hearing TOTALLY RESTORED by the power of the Name of Jesus! What a great way to start a trip! Since then, they have seen over 120 people saved on the streets and over 225 people healed! They even turned our interns loose in a hospital. One man they prayed for had been there for 3 months with a foot disease. After he received prayer, he immediately was checked out of the hospital TOTALLY HEALED! The youth rallies that our team will be ministering at started last night with over 2100 youth in attendance! Things are just getting heated up in Haiti! Stay tuned to 220power.com for a full report when our team returns! Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received! -- Matthew 10:7-8

Final Judgment at 220 North
Posted on Thursday, November 1st 2007
Last night, 671 young people came to 220 North for the multimedia presentation, “Final Judgment.” “Final Judgment” is an illustrated sermon that highlights the realities of Hell by depicting people actually in Hell. The young people present were given a glimpse of eternal separation from God through intense heat, a horrible stench, rattling sounds and screams, and a video of demons and flames. The fear and presence of the Lord were in the auditorium as Bro. Wayne Brown interviewed the actors sentenced to Hell. Many were touched through the altar call as 279 kids made decisions for Christ. All who were there were challenged to make sure that this was the only Hell experience they will ever have and not have to spend an eternity in the real Hell.
Lost Forever Drama Brings in 150 Souls
Posted on Thursday, November 1st 2007
This past Tuesday night, 220 South concluded its “Lost” series with the presentation of “Lost Forever.” This multi-media presentation told the story of a rich man and a poor man who both died unexpectedly. The story then took us into the after life by interviewing each character. It was a reality play that depicted what it would actually be like to spend an eternity in heaven or in hell. The drama concluded with a musical and video presentation of what Jesus suffered on the Cross to save us from hell and open the doors to heaven. More than 300 young people gathered at the south campus for this event, and 125 of those young people were saved! Praise Jesus for the souls that entered into the family of God this week!

Over 1,000 Saved!
Posted on Friday, October 5th 2007
The Guinness Book of World Records has not yet contacted us about all the souls that were won this past week in 220, but we know that something miraculous has happened and that God deserves all of the glory! A few years ago, 220 broke 1,000 in cell attendance for the first time. We were so excited, and we threw a huge party to celebrate. This year, something even more dynamic has happened. A combined total of 1,248 young people were saved this week alone in 220 through services, cells, clubs, and outreaches! Praise God! We thank God for every young person that was saved this past week and will continue to be saved in 220.

Posted on Tuesday, September 25th 2007
This Friday and Saturday, Baton Rouge will experience the second installment of 220 LIVE, the city wide gathering of 220. This event is designed for young people ages 11-25. Music, games, and give-a-ways play a big part of 220 LIVE, but the most important element of the event is when everyone is gathered to hear a revealing message on Jesus and His place in their lives. The excitement begins at 6:00 p.m. at Bethany’s south campus on Friday, with a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, free jambalaya, and a performance from Sanctified Syndicate. There will also be a relaxing Coffee Shop for those who like to lounge, and door prizes will be given away throughout the night. The evening will end with a powerful evangelistic service with worship and a message on "Choices." If there is one word that can be used to describe 220 LIVE at Bethany’s north campus on Saturday, it is POWER! Everything gets started at 3:00 p.m. with plenty of fun, friends, and food for everyone. Flag football, volleyball, a basketball tournament, and give-a-ways including an i-pod are among the many things that you will be able to take part in this Saturday. Before the day is over, everyone will encounter Jesus in a way that they may never have seen Him before through a creative and illustrated message.

Judgment Day Comes to the West
Posted on Saturday, May 12th 2007
220[west] ended the school year with a bang on Friday. 25 people were saved during the Judgment Day Drama that took place in the Brusly High Gym. Before the production there were give-a-ways, games, and music from DJ Pure. The Judgment Day Drama told the story of four young people who choices sealed their fate, and separated them from God for all eternity. Each character was interviewed, and told of the horrors of hell. After watching the death and resurrection of Jesus the students responded overwhelmingly to the altar call that was given. Sanctified Syndicate's own "Selah" concluded an already great experience for 220 [west] with a live performance that everyone enjoyed.
Westward Expansion for club220
Posted on Monday, April 30th 2007
This April has seen tremendous growth in the clubs west of the Mississippi. Club220 was reaching an average of 200 students at three schools in the west parishes. Now we are ministering to over 500 young people in five different schools. April 4 saw the beginning of this fresh move of God, where at Port Allen High School 130 students came to the first meeting of Club220. Following spring break, a new club also began at Port Allen Middle School, where students were grateful for Club220’s mentors being involved in their school. “We are reaching the students and they are hearing the word and it is starting to impact the school,” said seventh grader Bobby Holmes, who has pioneered a Morning Prayer at his school. Club220 will end the year with a special multimedia presentation at every west-side school, and will also hold a night-time youth meeting with a dramatic illustrated message, presenting the power of the cross and the impact of eternity. As Club220 nears the close of an amazing school year in 2006-2007, God is still moving in a mighty way! Article submitted by: Jordan Jopling

220 Live A Success!
Posted on Wednesday, March 21st 2007
On Saturday, March 17, 220 held its first joint youth service of the year. Over 2300 young people from the high schools, junior highs, and colleges in the surrounding area came to Bethany's north campus for a day that most will never forget. The day started at 12 noon with several fun-filled activities, such as basketball, flag football, volleyball, and extreme inflatable sports. At 4:30 p.m., the activities ended and the young people moved into the auditorium for the main event, a dynamic youth service. The worship was amazing, the message was powerful, and the skit caused many young people to search their hearts. When the invitation was given, 611 young people flooded the altars and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It was truly heart-stirring, and the presence of God was in the place. Afterwards, several local artists put on a concert that lasted until 9 p.m. When the day was over, many said it had been a great day for the kingdom of God.

Club220 kicked off the spring semester with a Service Project on Saturday, January 13 at Belaire High School where 15 mentors joined teachers, administrators, and students in an effort to make the school courtyards more attractive. The service project consisted of pressure washing the walls, benches, and concrete as well as painting tables and benches and laying pine straw in flowerbeds. “We simply wanted people to know that our mentors are here to serve the school in any way that they can,” said Wayne Brown, 220 High School Campus Coordinator. The project proved to be very successful! Principal Robert Webb Jr. who was also in attendance said he greatly appreciated the efforts of all of the participants. The project really exemplified the mission of Club220 as it relates to rebuilding lives and the community. Check out Pics from the event.

We were already planning all month for the biggest retreat as of date in 220’s history. We were prepared to feed, sleep, and minister to 300 young people. When registration began on Friday night, there was already a line of over 100 kids pushing and prodding there way to make sure they had a spot on the retreat. We quickly realized that we were going to surpass the 300 mark, and we did not want to rob any of these young people of the chance to meet Jesus face-to-face. Registration closed at almost 400! Leaders slept on the floor, and the pews in the sanctuary were used as beds for the overflow kids. The intensity and power of this Encounter was evident during the Cross session, as many kids stayed at the Cross weeping for hours! They even skipped dinner because the revelation of the sacrifice Jesus made for their sins was weighing so heavily on them! The weekend ended with a bang as all 400 kids received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and prayed in tongues until we had to tell them stop! Lives were radically changed. The Spirit moved. These kids will never be the same. Glory to God!
Lee High Service

Judgment Day Drama at Lee High School draws a crowd of 200 last Wednesday night(11/8/06). The play focused on four fictional characters who were involved in a car accident after home coming. Each character stood before the audience and pleaded their case in attempt to justify their lifestyles and escape Judgment. Over 125 students responded to the altar call and accepted Jesus in the very same spot that the four fictional characters denied Him. After the service 185 students stayed in the gym to meet in cells and receive further teaching on eternity. Praise God!

God is on the move! We had another great week of high school services. 500 young people attended our four campus locations this past Wednesday night and over 120 gave their hearts to the Lord! At Central High, 135 attended our Guys Night/Girls Night. 27 girls were saved after a fun night of makeovers and a powerful message on self image. 35 guys were saved after the 1st annual Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament and a clever presentation of the Gospel based on the history of the Rock, the Paper, and the Scissors! Come On! Check out "This is 220" for a few pics from the event.
220 Hell Night

Hell Night Brings Nearly 100 Salvations! This week we had over 500 kids at our high school services. Central High performed an illustrated sermon on Hell. Kids were slapped in the face with the reality of eternal separation from God and the truth of Christ as the only way for deliverance. Ninety-six kids gave their lives to the Lord with many of them expressing the desire to get connected in cells. Capital High had over 150 in attendance with 40 salvations, and Lee High had 130 with 35 decisions for Christ. God is on the move in our high schools!
